The king of torpor is also available as a physical release.

As this is a very limited run of only 40 copies, I didn’t want to use any sort of carrier for the audio (no cassette, cd or vinyl) but instead I decided to make a different collage for every copy.

Only using one recurring image, scraps and leftovers from previous projects as well as various types of tape and paper, every artwork is a unique labor of love (and often patience, we’re talking good old knife, typewriter and glue here).

The collage comes in a record-sized sleeve (handy for all you vinyl collectors, innit?) and furthermore contains a touching letter which music connaisseur Guy Peters sent me after listening to the record. Think of it as liner notes but not as you know it.

Of course you get unlimited streaming and a high-quality download as usual.

about

Jürgen Augusteyns (°Gent, 1972) is a guitarist/improviser.

Inspired by guitarists like Loren Connors, Chris Forsyth, and Mick Turner, as well as musicians and bands such as Sir Richard Bishop, Oren Ambarchi, and Six Organs of Admittance, Jürgen seeks to create his own musical universe, not shying away from experimentation.

On his first release for Mokuhi Sonorities, abstraction and dissonance make way for harmony and clearly defined themes once again.

"The king of torpor" is a quest for healing and solace in a world of too much, too loud, too fast. Because it is essential.
